Having grown up in California, driving along the PCH has been my source of peace. It didn’t matter the destination, I would jump into my car, roll down the windows, put in my favorite CD, and blast it out the windows as I headed straight for the coast. One of California’s greatest treasures is its coastline and Big Sur is its pride and joy. The drive along the PCH allows you to experience so many different terrains with views of the ocean, country fields, forests, and fog. On one spontaneous weekend, I decided to drive from San Francisco to San Simeon through Big Sur to visit the infamous Hearst Castle. Along the way I stopped by Limekiln State Park for a quick hike, the Piedras Blancas Rookery to see the elephant seals, and Moonstone Beach in Cambria to enjoy its colorful pebbles.
And to end the post, a photo of the Pacific fog rolling over the coast.
